When smoking traditional cigarettes, there’s also the risk of harming others around you through second-hand smoke. Children and the elderly are most in-danger when it comes to passive smoking and happens when the chemicals from tobacco are emitted around you from the cigarette.
However, vaping eliquids eliminates this risk as due to the lack of harmful chemicals, the vapour is not damaging and is safe to use around other people.
How to start vaping
The variety of flavours available is huge and there are several types of ecigarette to choose from, depending on what you want to get out of your vaping experience.
One of the most popular options that people choose when wanting to start vaping is to purchase a starter kit. These often come with a battery charging pack, ecigarette and a variety of flavours to help you find which one you like the most.
Alternatively, you can purchase a combination of eliquids in smaller bottles. This will allow you to hand-pick specific flavours such as peppermint, cola, cherry and vanilla.
Choosing an eliquid strength
Even if you’re not looking for a vaping kit to help you quit smoking, it will be useful consider the nicotine contents of the liquid you’re looking to use. If you’re not a tobacco smoker and aren’t dependant on nicotine, you should choose a liquid with no nicotine to avoid getting addicted.
However, if you’re a smoker and are looking to start vaping to be healthier, you may want to select a nicotine level that matches what you’re currently consuming.
For example, a smoker that tends to have a few cigarettes a day may want to opt for a liquid that has a strength of 12mg. Strengths can go up to 24mg for the heaviest smoker or as little as 0mg for non-smokers.
If you’re wanting to quit smoking using vaping, you can start with an eliquid that has a similar nicotine contents to what you’re already consuming. Then, over time, you can gradually reduce this until you’re completely free from nicotine.
